Professional Experience

Maame Yaa is a Senior Associate at HB&O Legal, combining her legal practice with academia. In her practice, she has worked in diverse areas of law including corporate and commercial, regulatory compliance, commercial arbitration, and employment/labour law. She advises on project financing, banking and finance, incorporation of companies, regulatory compliance, and has assisted on mergers and acquisitions.

She gained experience in arbitration working as Technical Advisor to arbitral panels at the Ghana Arbitration Centre. Maame Yaa has drafted and reviewed documents including loan facilities, term sheets, share pledges, and corporate contracts. She has conducted research in several transactions including the acquisition and transfer of shares in the telecommunications and banking sectors.

Maame Yaa has been involved in advising on corporate insolvency and restructuring, the enforceability of various legal documents, regulatory compliance in the communications technology industry, issues in the energy sector, public-private partnerships, and tax matters.
